Padang-padang Beach is a beach in southern Bali characterized by cliffs with white and fine sand. Padang-padang Beach is at the westernmost tip of the Uluwatu Peninsula, approximately an hour's drive from Denpasar. Access to the beach is at the end of Jalan Raya Uluwatu, just to the right (north) of the entrance gate to Uluwatu Temple. From the main road, the journey to the parking area is approximately 1 kilometer. From the parking area, visitors have to walk approximately 500 meters down the hill, past souvenir stalls, until they reach a gap in the coral rocks with cement stairs that lead to a stretch of beach protected by giant cliffs. From below this gap, the road to the beach area splits into two lanes. The left path penetrates the coral passage. Through this route, visitors will find an open section of beach. On this beach, foreign tourists usually spend time sunbathing on the beach or surfing, enjoying the crashing waves. Visitors to this beach are not too busy and are dominated by foreign tourists, giving the sensation of being on a private beach.
